The characteristics of a good leader.

In my opinion, the characteristics of a good leader are humour, good knowledge in the field that he/she works, encouraging his/her employees in right time, good listening and understanding skill.
First of all, a leader is a humour person, he/she can create a comfortable working environment at company. His/her employees feels the company as their second house, they feel eager to come to company and try their best to finish their work.
Second, he/she needs to good knowledge in the field that he/she works. This is very important, because if his/her employees knows that their leader lack some knowledge about something in their job, they shrug light off that boss.
Moreover, a leader need to know encouraging his/her employees in right time. All of employees have different characteristics, so if a leader know to take advantage strong points and weak points of employees, and combine all of them in right time, he/she will have a successful team. For example, when a leader gives a target for employees, he/she need to give more detail for some employees if they finish their job excellent, they can receive great prize. In contrast, he/she also should motivate for some employees that they haven't finish their job successful yet. They have a second chance later.
Furthermore, a leader should have good listening and understanding skill, if he/she listens their employees say something in their life or work, he/she can understand expectation of employees about their future in company. It helps a leader can arrange appropriate position for each employee. For example, if some employees can not work far away from their home, a leader can arrange some positions in the branch of company that located near their home.
To summary, if a leader want to have good team for working effectively, he/she need to have all of characteristics that I mention above. If he/she is good in manage, he/she will receive the respect from employees and they will try their best to finish their job.
